Planned Features
( The following items are listed in no particular order.)
- Major Features
- Dependencies
Frequently one task is dependant upon the completion of another.
ListfulThinking will make sure that a task is never ranked higher than the
task it is dependant on.
- Server Synching
Most of us have more than one computer in our lives. We've got
the one as home and the one at work. Some of us have multiple
computers at both. ListfulThinking will, optionally, save a copy of your
ListfulThinking lists on our server so that no matter what computer you're
on you'll have the latest list. Unfortunately we're going to have
to charge a fee for this service since accounts at ISPs aren't
free.
- Status Display
Right now ListfulThinking doesn't do much with the "status" field.
The plan is to have a small icon next to each item in the list
that will let know you know in a glance what tasks you've started,
what ones still need to be started, etc.
- Date Handling
Some work has already been done towards this one. ListfulThinking will take
the due date of a task into account when it prioritizes a list.
If it's due in a few hours it will be moved to the top of the
list. ListfulThinking will also keep track of when you completed a task for
future reference.
- Archiving Old Items
When you set an item's status to "completed" it will
be hidden from your list, but not deleted from the system. That
way, if you ever need to know when you did something you'll be
able to pull up a list of past tasks and look at their completion
dates.
- Summazed List
Once you have more than one list going ListfulThinking will enable you to
see a prioritized list of all the tasks on all your lists.
- Details
Sometimes a little title isn't enough. There will be a details
field where you can enter in as much descriptive text about an
item as you want.
- Printing
Choosing "Print" from the print menu will ship the current
list off to your printer.
- native versions
There will, eventually be an .exe version for windows and a .app
version for mac. Maybe even an installer. oooh.
- Minor Features
- enable right clicking
Soon you'll be able to right click on a list item to edit or delete
it.
- using enter
No more having to reach for your mouse when you're done filling
in an item. Just tab on over to the "create" button
and hit enter. This basic concept needs to be implemented wherever
possible.
